Behind the Scenes: The Ends of the Earth - SS18 photoshoot

Emma’s attention to detail often has her travelling metaphorically to the ends of the earth, but for our SS18 photoshoot she did it literally as well...

The Spring Summer 2018 collection combines strong primary colours with monochrome simplicity, taking you from a playful daytime look to luxurious evening wear. Emma wanted to shoot the collection in a dramatic beach setting, to compliment the sophistication of the designs.

After researching around the UK, she found what she was after at the far tip: Porthcurno Beach and Nanjizal Cove… Porthcurno is known as a mini paradise, with dramatic cliff faces, white sands and twinkling blue seas, it’s one of the UK’s most scenic spots.

Nearby Nanjizal Cove is a hidden beach with natural wonders like the arch in the rocks known as the ‘Song of the Sea’ and the sparkling quartz ‘Diamond Horse’. The only problem? It’s completely secluded and cut off from all nearby roads. Equipped with camera equipment and the SS18 collection, Emma and the crew walked across rocky terrain towards Land’s End until they reached the mysterious Nanjizal Cove. There, they snapped away on the deserted beach until they got the perfect shots.

All that effort paid off. The textured rocks bring out the bold lines of the prints, while the contrast between the dark granite and the turquoise waves compliments the dramatic colour palette for the Spring Summer 2018 collection.
